One of White Plains’ favorite diners will be back and better than ever within the next few weeks. The diner, owned by the Livanos family for the last 18 years, has been closed for renovations since April 16 and will open again with a 60s to 70s  “California vibe.”

“It was time for the design to evolve,” said Nick Livanos. “We are excited for the re-opening, and I know everyone will love the restaurant’s new look.”

In addition to a new logo, redesigned dining room and expanded bar and lounge area—the menu features new items by Executive Chef Peter Assue and Pastry Chef Tracy Assue, including pies fresh from City Limits’ new pizza oven.

“We have received a great deal of support from the local community since we first opened,” said John Livanos. “With this renovation, City Limits has a rejuvenated atmosphere—it’s full circle with the design, cuisine, and the service.”

Microsoft Store – 125 Westchester Ave. (The Westchester Mall)

The Westchester will soon be home to two computer titans. The Microsoft Store will be moving into the shopping mall—which is already home to the Apple Store—as of Aug. 10, and will also offer interactive computer classes, like summer camp courses in digital arts, movie making and more.

Butterfield 8 – 147 Mamaroneck Ave.

White Plains is getting its very own “gastropub” —for those of you (most people reading this) who don’t know what that means, it’s a bar and restaurant that serves high-end beer and food.

The urban American social spot, which already has locations in New York City and Stamford, will inhabit the former FedEx Kinkos spot on the corner of Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue. Click here to see some photos, and here for job openings. No word on the opening date yet.

Lola’s Mexican Kitchen – 147 Mamaroneck Ave.

This new restaurant, which is currently seeking a cabaret license from the City, will be adjacent to Butterfield 8 and offer authentic Mexican and Southwester cuisine. Click here to check out the website for Lola’s Stamford location and for updates on the opening date.

– 91 Mamaroneck Ave.

This beloved pizzeria has been closed since during the City’s St. Patrick’s festivities on March 10. There is no sign as to when Nicky’s will start serving its famous slices again, but the pizzeria’s voicemail promises that it is under renovation and will open again soon.

- 230 E. Post Rd.

Though it has not been officially confirmed, this local deli seems to have called it quits. There is a closed sign on the door and none of the deli's phone numbers work. Its website is also no longer available.
