Man Accused of Strangling Ex-Girlfriend in City Apartment

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 30-year-old Elmsford man faces a felony charge after a confrontation in a White Plains apartment that left his ex-girlfriend beaten and bruised, according to arrest reports.

The alleged incident took place in the woman's Battle Ave. apartment at about 12:45 a.m. on June 25. Police say the victim's mother called police after the victim had contacted her screaming for help.

Police say when they arrived at the victim's apartment they found items thrown throughout the home and determined a fight had taken place. The woman was suffering from a swollen right eye and was suffering from neck pain, arrest reports say.

The ex-boyfriend also had a history of domestic violence, according to arrest reports.

The 30-year-old man was charged with strangulation in the second degree, a felony, misdemeanor unlawful imprisonment and misdemeanor assault. He was processed at police headquarters.
