White Plains Valentine's Day Ideas
Here are some suggestions for you and your sweetie to share your love in White Plains.
If you haven't found a way to celebrate your loved ones this Valentine's Day, no worries—there are still a few days left before Valentine’s Day. For those who want to avoid the last minute panic of figuring out a gift or deciding on a way to celebrate, Patch highlights some of the best the city of White Plains has to offer for the big day of love.
Flowers
At Creative Flowers by Amodio’s, owner Catherine Amodio said that they are, of course, offering the classic dozen red roses for Valentine’s Day.
But she added that orchid plants are becoming very popular as well, and last longer than cut flowers. “We also have lots of beautiful different colors of roses because women actually tell us they like a variation from red,” Amodio said. “And we are selling Godiva chocolates to go with flower purchases.” Prices for orchids are $39.99 and up and a dozen roses begin at $49.99.
Blossom Flower Shops at 275 Mamaroneck Ave is selling special “royal” roses that are 3-feet long. The shop also offers chocolates, cards, stuffed animals and crystal vases for the holiday. Prices for the red “royal” roses are $12 for a single and $65 for six wrapped flowers.
Floral Designs of Westchester (formerly Pretty Petals Plus) at 56 Mamaroneck Avenue is offering a combination gift that includes short stem roses, a Mylar balloon, a box of chocolates and a plush bear for $75. They deliver seven days a week and will stay open until 11 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.
Restaurants
Legal Seafood at the City Center: The management assured us that oysters will be available on Feb. 14, as well as extra-large steamed lobsters, crabbed-stuffed sole and the full regular menu. “Love potion #9” is the special cocktail of the night.
La Bocca: Chef and owner Tony Spiritoso said that the four-year old restaurant is a very “cozy and romantic” place for a Valentine’s Day dinner. In addition to the regular menu, he is offering a prix fixe menu that includes a small bottle of prosecco, a salad, an appetizer, an entrée and dessert for $59. He recommends that you call ahead for reservations.
The Melting Pot: A fondue restaurant in White Plains is an extra special destination on Tuesday night. They are offering a special four-course fondue menu starting at $160 per couple with a complimentary Champagne toast, framed photograph and a chocolate-scented candle. Romance packages are available through the restaurant if you’d like flowers or other item waiting at the table when you arrive.
