White Plains Gets New Bikes Lanes

You can now make your way from the Highlands to the Metro-North train station via bicycle.

White Plains installed new bike lanes this week that run down Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd., onto Water Street to the White Plains Metro-North Station and back up Lexington Avenue.

The lanes will offer a green mode of transportation from the Highlands neighborhood to Bronx River Parkway recreational trails or to the train stations where riders can park their bikes and hop on the train.

The City will be holding an event, including vendors and t-shirts, on June 16 at the at 11 a.m. to educate the public on the bike lanes and offer bike safety tips.
