Sidewalk Sales in White Plains; “9/11: Serve & Remember” Volunteer Opportunities Available
- The White Plains Library is hosting "Kindergarten Here I Come" today from noon to 5 p.m. This 18 minute video is designed to generate excitement about starting kindergarten. There will be an all-day continuous showing in the Cave alternating in both English and Spanish. Call Rosemary Rasmussen at (914) 422-1476 for more information. - SCORE Westchester is hosting a workshop on product marketing, sales, distribution and manufacturing relations today, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Entrepreneur Nina Mattikow will lead the workshop. Register here. SCORE Westchester is located at 120 Bloomingdale Rd. in White Plains.
- Barnes and Noble, located inside the City Center in White Plains, is inviting prospective and current NOOK users are invited to learn about the many features and functions of the device and meet other users in our community. Lend books and share tips in a relaxed and fun atmosphere while getting to know your NOOK. The event starts at 7 p.m.
- The White Plains Business Improvement District's Rising Star Sidewalk Sales are scheduled to begin today. The sales offer visitors and shoppers great deals on a variety of merchandise in downtown White Plains. The sales will tae place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday. - The formal kick-off for “ 9/11: Serve & Remember” was Tuesday. The event features more than 25 service events at area nonprofit organizations, beginning Tuesday and continuing until Sept 11. Go to www.volunteer-center.org/service2013 for a full list of activities.
