White Plains Library Hosts Job Club; Grace Concert Series Scheduled Today

  • The White Plains Library is hosting its Job Club discussion series today at 10:30 a.m. Career counselors Ginny Ruder and Rose Macom will lead the ongoing weekly job club include writing resumes and cover letters, preparing for an interview, using the Internet and social media with the library's resources to conduct a job search and tips on developing a strong professional network. It is recommended that people attend the entire series, but participants can come when they are able. The White Plains Library is located at 100 Martine Ave.
  • “Downtown Music at Grace” series is hosting pianist David Kim for a performance of the works of Liszt, Debussy, and Beethoven today at noon . Kim has been heard in concert with the Syracuse Symphony and appeared on Vermont Public Radio and WNYC in New York. The performance will take place at Grace Episcopal Church, located at 33 Church Street in White Plains.
  • The Greenburgh town hall is hosting the The Affordable Care Act & You tonight at 7 p.m. Learn about signing up for individual coverage, benefits that are covered and how the ACA will affect Medicare. The NY healthcare exchange opens today for coverage that will begin on Jan. 1, 2014. Speakers include: Tim Foley, Political Director for the Committee of interns and Residents/SEUI Healthcare and Pat Esposito, Director of Westchester Seniors Speaking Out (WSOS), a program of the Medicare Rights Center.   • The White Plains Library is hosting its weekly drop-in computer help session tonight at 7:30 p.m. The session will cover everything from basic tasks such as setting up files in your computer and adding attachments to your emails to finding online forms and sharing your digital photos. Bring your laptop, tablet or eBook reader, or use one of the library’s computers, and a tech expert will help you learn to get the most out of computers. No registration required. The library is located at 100 Martine Ave.
