Planned Parenthood Offering Free HIV Tests

In recognition of World AIDS Day, Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHP) health centers in Westchester and Rockland counties will offer free HIV testing* on Tuesday, December 4.

Rapid HIV Tests, which give results in 40 minutes, will be available at the White Plains, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon and Spring Valley centers to encourage men and women who have been sexually active to get tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The tests are free with a paid visit. Free condoms will also be available.

“World AIDS Day is a great reminder that HIV is preventable and people should know their own status,” said Reina Schiffrin, President/CEO, PPHP.  “When it comes to your health and the health of your partner, the best ways to protect yourselves are through regular testing and consistent use of condoms.”

Visit www.pphp.org or call 1-800-230-PLAN (7526) to find a health center, and for health center hours. Appointments are not necessary for emergency contraception, pregnancy, HIV and STD testing, and testing and treatment for urinary tract infections.
