WHITE PLAINS, NY - August 20, 2012 - Three operatic Italian talent show winners have taken Europe by storm and their PBS special in the U.S. has launched a string of sold out dates around the country. Now, after selling out performances in Manhattan and Long Island for September, and opening for Barbra Streisand's sold out shows in Brooklyn this October, Il Volo has added a new show at The Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.
The Pepe Infiniti Concert Series at The Westchester County Center, sponsored by Leros Point To Point, Grapes The Wine Company, and D. Bertoline & Sons, is proud to present Il Volo on Thursday night, October 18, 2012. Doors will open at 7PM and the show begins at 8PM. The performance at the County Center includes a "meet and greet" after the show.
In May 2009, these three fresh-faced teenagers, Piero Barone (17), Ignazio Boschetto (16), and Gianluca Ginoble (16), appeared on the popular Italian talent show "Ti Lascio Una Canzone" and dazzled television viewers with their flawless rendition of the Neapolitan standard "O Sole Mio." The boys, who won the competition easily, decided their group needed a name. "Il Volo," meaning "flight," was chosen to signify the feeling that these three young tenors were about to spread their wings and fly.
The Pepe Infiniti Concert Series at the Westchester County Center is produced by Westchester Media Inc's, WM Concerts unit. For more information, go to wmconcerts.com, or contact: Susan Kornfeld: skornfeld (at) intunepartners (dot) com
