Youth Health Program a Fit for the Holidays

The White Plains Youth Bureau's Healthy and Fit for Life Program will be launching a "12 Daysof Fitness" program with a kick-off event on Saturday, Dec. 8.

The kick-off event will beheld at the Eastview Middle School Gym from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This event is for youth ages 14 - 21 years only.

The event will include a healthy holiday cooking demonstration, Yoga, Pilates, and Zumba classes as well as a guest speaker on "Health & Wellness Survival for the Holidays." All participating youth will receive a Healthy & Fit Survival Kit full of helpful items they can use to maintain a healthy lifestyle during the holidays.

Following the kick-off event, the Healthy & Fit for Life program will be offering special "Healthy Holidays" fitness classes at the Youth Bureau from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. from Monday, December 10 through Friday, December 21. These classes will combine cardio and strength training along with nutrition education.

All White Plains youth ages 14 - 21 years are encouraged to take advantage of this free program to stay healthy & fit during the holidays.

This program is made possible by funding from the Westchester County Youth Bureau and the New York State Office of Alcohol & Substance Abuse Services.
