Author Carol Gilligan to Speak at Manhattan College Women's Lecture Series
Monday, Sept. 9: Author, feminist and professor Carol Gilligan will launch the Manhattan College Women's Lecture series and share her professional experience publishing her 1982 book, In a Different Voice, which focuses on gender studies. Harvard University Press called the book, “the little book that started a revolution,” and Gilligan held the first chair position in gender studies at Harvard University. She is currently a professor at New York University.
The Women’s Lecture Series is part of Manhattan College’s yearlong celebration of 40 years of coeducation at Manhattan, which is sponsored by the Dean of Students Civility Project. The College will announce additional lectures for the spring semester in the coming months. The local community is invited to attend the Women’s Lecture Series.
