FASNY: TOO HOT AND CROWDED

Hot, humid, crowded with hundreds of people crammed into a small space...no it's not a border detention center but rather White Plains City Hall during recent, 7/7/14 public hearings for the FASNY site plan and the abandonment of Hathaway Lane hearings.  Despite numerous letters and public requests to change the venue to a larger, more appropriate space such as the WPHS auditorium, Mayor Roach has dug in his heels inexplicably and declared, 'no' to moving.  The FASNY FIASCO is starting to look like the FIREWORKS FIASCO...who called that one?  Really, during a thunder and lightening storm,  city officials told people it was happening and go watch from your car.   That made no sense and graphically showed the political malaise, cynicism or plain stupidity of the people in charge at city hall.  The same people who refuse to sensibly move the public hearings to WPHS are the 'stewards' of our neighborhoods who will be voting on whether or not to give FASNY a special permit.

Mayor Roach, we again request that the FASNY public hearings be moved to the White Plains High School auditorium.  There is precedent for doing this.  Mayor DelVecchio moved the Common Council public hearings to WPHS during the New York hospital hearings.  It makes sense.
