Group is Collecting Toiletry Items for People in Need

The following announcement was submitted by Melissa Thompson of the VCF Center for Help.

The Helping Hands project is a project that  provides basic toiletries to individuals and families that have been displaced due to the following fire, natural disaster, homelessness, temporarily housed, pending public assistance case, social service sanctions, release from jail, eviction, illegal lock out, runaway, domestic violence victim, unemployed, sick and shut in and young adults aging out of foster care.

The purpose of this “toiletry drive” is to provide assistance to families that currently live in Westchester and are currently experiencing a crisis and cannot afford to purchase basic toiletries.

The following items may be donated in new and unused condition: bath soap, wash cloth, tooth brushes, tooth paste, pillows, blankets, men’s socks, women Socks, Children’s socks, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, feminine hygiene products, deodorant and baby diapers. We are also requesting donations of winter hats and gloves because the weather will be changing soon.
