Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester Hosts 12th Annual "In Celebration"

 Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester (HPCW) recently hosted its 12th Annual Gala Cocktail Reception, In Celebration, at Westchester Country Club in Rye.

This year’s gala honored Mae Carpenter, Commissioner, Westchester County Department of Senior Programs & Services and Kenneth J. Doka, PhD, Professor of Gerontology at the Graduate School of The College of New Rochelle and Senior Consultant to the Hospice Foundation of America for their continued dedication and commitment to HPCW. The event also paid tribute to Mrs. Anna L. Shereff for her steadfast support of HPCW’s Anna & Louis H. Shereff Caregiver and Complementary Care Programs.

As guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and light dinner, Event Emcee James P. O’Toole thanked sponsors, contributors and honorees for their support of HPCW. Mary K. Spengler, MS, Executive Director of HPCW thanked staff and volunteers for their exceptional commitment to HPCW’s patients and families. Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino participated in the program, presenting HPCW with a proclamation, congratulating the organization on 21 years of providing vital hospice services to Westchester residents. Mr. Astorino spoke about the importance of hospice and palliative care and thanked HPCW for its commitment to Westchester County. Event co-chair and HPCW board member William F. Flooks, Jr., and James P. O’Toole recognized the honorees and the program concluded with a special tribute to Mrs. Anna L. Shereff for her unwavering dedication.

“We so appreciate our honorees who have shown such dedication to our organization and to the hospice philosophy of care,” said Mary K. Spengler, MS, Executive Director at HPCW. “It is through their commitment to education and their support of our programs that we are able to continue providing the highest level of care to our patients.”

Grand Sponsor of the event was Anna L. Shereff, and sponsors included Amoruso & Amoruso, LLP; The Hildegarde D.
