Military Veteran and Olympian Melissa Stockwell to Speak at Manhattan College Women's Lecture Series

Tuesday, Oct. 1: Military veteran Melissa Stockwell will address the community and tell how she recovered from losing a limb from a roadside bomb in Iraq to becoming an Olympian. First competing as swimmer in the 2008 Paralympic Games, she moved over to participating in paratriathlons and has won multiple national and international titles.

 

The Women’s Lecture Series is part of Manhattan College’s yearlong celebration of 40 years of coeducation at Manhattan, which is sponsored by the Dean of Students Civility Project. The College will announce additional lectures for the spring semester in the coming months. The local community is invited to attend the Women’s Lecture Series.
