Anticipation of the Game at MetLife Stadium Grows as County Businesses Announce

Unique Accommodations and Offers for a Super Celebration

While the nation gets ready for Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in northern New Jersey, Westchester County businesses are excited for the Super Celebration happening locally. Enthusiastic about the game in the tri-state region, hotels and restaurants have announced themed hotel packages and menu options for both visitors and locals celebrating the Super Bowl in the county.

            “We are excited to welcome Super Bowl fans and visitors to Westchester County,” said County Executive Robert P. Astorino. “The county has been preparing for the festivities by offering a variety of services including luxury accommodations in our hotel rooms, transportation, fun places to view the game and great food to satisfy every fan. We invite all to make Westchester their ‘end zone’ for the big game.”  

            Natasha Caputo, Director of Tourism and Film, added, “Westchester is a destination for sports fans and visitors looking for a venue for dining, arts and culture, outdoor entertainment and more. In the upcoming weeks, visitors will get a taste of all that we have to offer and not only for the Super Bowl season but year round.”

The following are featured attractions in Westchester County for Super Bowl XLVIII:

 

Stay Local

            The Radisson New Rochelle is offering a package that includes a two-night stay in a king or double guest room and roundtrip transportation for two to MetLife Stadium in their VIP Party Bus where complimentary beer and wine is available. Wake up the next morning with a continental breakfast for two at the hotel’s restaurant, NoMa Social. This offer starts at $325 per night. Tickets for the party bus to and from the stadium are also available for individual sale.             Or, book a hotel suite at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel in White Plains for a catered Super Bowl party. The hotel is featuring a package that includes overnight accommodations for six in a three-bedroom suite stocked with: a barrel of beer, wine and Pepsi beverage products, sliders, homemade chili, spicy chicken wings, sausage and peppers, mac-n-cheese, fresh salads, snacks and Super Bowl cupcakes – all for just $995 plus tax ($332 plus tax per couple). The Renaissance Westchester Hotel offers a cozy oasis in the wintertime, replete with heated indoor pool, bubbly whirlpool, fire pits outdoors so you can feel like you’re tailgating, and the Hive Living Room + Bar.             If you’re looking for a more adventurous way to get to the Super Bowl, try a helicopter. Avoid traffic and get to the game in minutes. Wings Air Helicopters, based in White Plains, and SafeRides.org will be providing helicopter service from the Westchester County Airport in White Plains to the Super Bowl with luxury vehicle service between five airports and the stadium. Drop off locations include Teterboro Airport, Newark Airport, Caldwell Airport, Linden Airport and Lincoln Park Airport. A luxury Sedan or Bentley will be waiting at the airport to get fans to the game on time. Lift off time at the Westchester County Airport begins at 6:25 p.m. on Feb. 2. Rates start at $2,100.             In addition, sports fans can contact Red Oak Transportation in White Plains for ground transportation to the game. Book your reservations early. A limited number of vehicles are available. Those interested can call 914-694-2222, ext. 100 for pricing and availability.

 

Join the Party

            Escape from the cold and go to Castle Hotel & Spa in Tarrytown’s Super Bowl Tailgate Party. Sports fans can cheer on their favorite team in the hotel’s 19th century Tapestry Lounge and General’s Bar with a high definition television screen, a blazing fire, and a celebrated culinary team providing delicious dining. An assortment of mixed drinks, champagne, scotch and popular beers will be available and the à la carte East Meets West Super Bowl menu will feature spicy tuna rolls, braised heritage pork belly with “firecracker slaw” and Peking duck spring rolls with hoisin/sweet chili sauce. Menu items range from $9 to $19. The menu will be available starting at 4 p.m. and kick-off time for the tailgate party is set for 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required and seating is limited.             Empire City Casino in Yonkers is another venue in Westchester for game viewing, and there are several options for every fan. The Entertainment Lounge, for example, has a giant 10’ by 15’ screen and seven 47” high-definition televisions. Another option is Dan Rooney’s Sports Pub with 40 high-definition televisions. Or, the Pinch American Grill has five high-definition televisions for game viewing with 100 New York craft beers on tap and “pour your own” table side taps. Better yet, the Empire Terrace Restaurant allows guests to view the game on personal televisions at each table and big screens at the bar. Game day specials include $3 Bud/Bud Light Draft, $1 hot dogs and snacks, as well as prizes and giveaways in the Entertainment Lounge. The Empire Terrace Restaurant will have a tailgate party starting at 4 p.m. for $14.95 per person and $4 beers. Limited seating and first-come, first-served for this offer. Lastly, enjoy an all-you-can-eat meal at Dan Rooney’s Sports Pub for $20, which includes turkey club sandwiches, wings, sliders, nachos and more. Game Day group packages are also available. Or, on game day, watch the game in the restaurant while enjoying an all-you-can-eat open bar that includes mini burgers, chicken wings, fish tacos, wines, beers, and specialty cocktails for the entirety of the game.             Nearby in Yonkers, restaurateur and renowned chef Peter X. Kelly invites sports goers to celebrate the Super Bowl at X2O – Xavier’s on the Hudson. It is a casual Super Bowl gathering where guests can feel comfortable in their favorite NFL jersey. From the warmth and comfort of its dining room with high-definition televisions, the restaurant will provide hors d’oeuvres, delicious stadium snacks and a fabulous open bar, along with a full menu passed buffet-style to tables. For a “Pre-Game Warm Up,” guests can enjoy a wide range of options including jumbo chicken wings with Roquefort dip, parsley and cheese sausage in a blanket and BBQ pork and jalapeño jack quesadillas, as well as a sushi bar that includes nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls and sushi.
