WOODLANDS IMANI TILFORD SIGNS WITH GEORGIA TECH

Joined by her parents, Woodlands faculty and student body, Woodlands senior and Falcons women’s varsity basketball player, Imani Tilford, signed a National Letter of Intent to The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) on Friday, November 15th in the Woodlands gymnasium.   Georgia Tech is one of the nation's top research universities, distinguished by its deeply held commitment to improving the human condition through advanced science and technology. Tilford has accepted a full scholarship to attend the school and will represent the Yellow Jackets women's basketball team, a NCAA Division I team, beginning fall 2014.

 

“Imani Tilford deserves this wonderful opportunity,” said Matt Smith, athletic director Woodlands High School.  “As a student-athlete, she worked hard, while successfully balancing her academic and athletic responsibilities.  We (the District) are so proud of her because she is truly a product of Greenburgh Central School District.”

Tilford has been starting point guard on the varsity team since 8th grade. She has led in most statistical categories including scoring, steals, and assists throughout her career.
