White Plains will encourage its residents to adopt healthy lifestyles during a 2K walk organized by the White Plains Juneteenth Heritage Committee.
The walk maintains the city’s year-long Juneteenth theme of “Healthy Living, Healthy Lifestyles” and will be held on Saturday, July 28 at the track.
Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. with the warm-up at 9 a.m. The actual walk starts at 9:15 a.m. and ends with a cool down at 9:45 a.m.
The event is free and open to people of all ages, who are required to register at the start of the event.
Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19 and commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S. The White Plains Juneteenth Heritage Committee has honored the holiday with festivities each year since 2003.
