Family and friends of Harry Devert, the 32-year-old Westchester native who has gone missing in Mexico, are staying positive about the search for their loved one.

Harry is a former financial trader from Pelham who was on a motorcycle trip through Latin America, according to reports. He was last heard from Jan. 25, when he sent a text to his girlfriend, who CNN identified as Sarah Ashley Schiear.

"Just got an hour and a half long escort out of some area it was too dangerous for me to be," he wrote. "Stopping for lunch and ... voila Internet. Gonna get back on the road soon. Apparently there's another military escort waiting for me in some other town. I'm running way late because of the crazy military stuff ... hopefully get a chance to talk to you tonight when I (hopefully) finally arrive."

Information on the Help Find Harry Facebook page includes a description of his motorcycle, the license plate number and the vehicle identification number; an email address for the search, helpfindharry@hotmail.com; and a link to his travel blog. There he describes himself as the "owner of a big smile and a broad taste for adventure."

Harry's mother, Ann Devert, posted on the page Feb. 7 that an unidentified man in a Mexican hospital was not her son. Another update that day reads, "Once you choose hope, anything is possible," with a #helpfindharry hashtag.

The following post was shared Monday morning:

"A fellow traveler just sent me a message that said, 'I'm pretty sure he's safe, seems like he's got too much good karma on his side,'" reads a post published Monday morning on the Facebook page. "This tiny message brings a smile to my face. It's so true. We must maintain hope! All positive energy and prayers directed to our Harry! I'm so happy that we are making progress with the government due to all of this press. We will keep you updated."

The American and French embassies in Mexico have been notified, as Harry has dual citizenship. The country's Interior Ministry officials have not yet confirmed that Harry is missing, according to a CNN story by Ray Sanchez. Click here for the full report.

You hope he is well Richard after calling him a jerk? Really? Why is that? What makes him a jerk for wanting to explore the world instead of sitting on a computer and being a miserable prick like you appear to be? Don't pass judgement on people you don't know. Harry Devert is one of the most caring, genuine people any of us will ever know. If the world were filled with more people like Harry it would be an even more wonderful place to live. As for Robert, can you really refer to a statement made via text between himself and his girlfriend an arrogant reference? He was merely making reference to an out of the ordinary occurrence as crazy. Is it not indeed crazy that upon what was thought to be a military escort, designed to protect civilians, the man is now missing? That is indeed very crazy. When commenting please remember the has MANY friends and family that are worried sick. Be a little more empathetic.

I wish him well and for his loved ones to be at peace. But the statement, "he has too much good karma on his side" is an insult to Buddhists. You can have all the "good karma" in the world but that doesn't mean you stop looking both ways before you cross the street.

So many ppl of this world are driven my BS. At least this guy was trying to do something he loved. Yeah, may not have been the smartest place to go to but neither is Russia! Or some parts of Detroit, or Albany. Those above turds are blinded. If it was their child [i pray for their children if they do have any] I'm sure their reactions would be different.

"What makes him a jerk for wanting to explore the world instead of sitting on a computer and being a miserable prick like you appear to be? " Myself, I didn't spend my life in front of a computer, I spent 30 years working in places all over the world, often in Third World dung-heaps most Americans never even heard of. I've heard of, and run across, lots of people like this, idiots who thank that they're immune from danger simply because they're Americans. Once, when an acquaintance wanted to buy property in the Dominican Republic because he thought it was a beautiful place to live, I advised against it because I knew FROM EXPERIENCE that the D.R. was a country that people risk their lives to escape from, not move to. He disregarded my advice, and now he's dead. The daughter of another friend wanted to become an exchange student in Egypt. I advised against it because I had often been in Egypt, and knew what the Egyptians were like, and that it was a dangerous place for a young American girl on her own. In the end she didn't let her daughter go, and now her daughter is pissed at her. However, subsequent events proved me 100% right, and the mother is glad her daughter never went to Egypt.

Richard your a jerk and have all the courage for your comments... Ever think that your comments could hurt someone who reads them? Who cares? Its not like its your problem... Harry is a nice person, cool as heck and down to earth.... Coming from Pelham and working hard to be a financial trader doesn't make him a jerk. He is a success and could be your child! For some people, this is more than a story!! P.s. everyone makes mistakes and should think before passing judgment..... Think of his mother.
