Holiday Rain, Snow On The Way In White Plains

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain tonight through Friday and chance of snow this weekend and on Christmas Eve.

It may not be a white Christmas in White Plains this year, but folks should be ready for some major rain and a few snow showers this week and weekend.

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain and strong winds for the area beginning late tonight and continuing into Friday morning. White Plains could see up to two inches of rain, thunderstorms and strong wind gusts.

The worst of the weather will hit during Friday's rush-hour, morning commute, according to the NWS.

Also, expect snow showers Friday night into early Saturday morning and more snowflakes on Christmas Eve night, according to the NWS. But it looks like Christmas Day is in the clear, with a high of 37 and partly sunny skies.

Keep the umbrellas and boots handy this weekend while doing that last-minute holiday shopping!
