Major Road Work to Begin on Mamaroneck Avenue Today

Motorists in White Plains can expect delays as today due to road work on Mamaroneck Avenue, between Martine and Maple avenues, today. The repaving job is expected to last until Aug. 15.


The following motorist alert was submitted by the City of White Plains. 
Phase I
Beginning Wednesday, July 31, 2013, the City’s Contractor, PCI Industries, Inc., will begin preparation work for night-time milling and paving. Preparation work will be performed approximately between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Although the street will remain open to vehicular traffic, traffic lanes may be restricted and areas of street parking will be temporarily suspended during working hours as the work progresses. 
Phase II
Upon completion of the preparation work, the existing pavement will be milled (removed) and a new asphalt surface will be placed. This rehabilitation work will be performed between approximately 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.

For these evenings the street will remain open to vehicular traffic. Traffic lanes will be restricted and areas of street parking will be temporarily suspended. In order to avoid traffic, please plan to take an alternate route if possible.Please noteMilling and paving operations will not be scheduled for Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights. Please contact Brian M.
