The Youth Bureau’s fourth annual Father-Daughter Dance will have a new home this year - the .  Last year’s event was so successful that organizers decided to move it to a larger venue.

The event will be held on Friday, March 2.  The fun begins at 7:00 p.m. when young ladies and their escorts – fathers, uncles, grandfathers or significant adult males standing in for unavailable dads – dressed in their party clothes gather at the hotel for an evening of fun, dancing and food.

This year’s dance is an activity of the Fatherhood Initiative -- a program launched by the Youth Bureau two years ago to encourage dads to take a more active role in the lives of their children.

Youth Bureau Executive Director Frank Williams says the dance provides families with a fun activity for a girl and her dad, or positive adult, male figure in her life to share time and form a lasting memory.

“It is so heartwarming to hear the children and adults share what makes the other special and even more endearing to see them enjoying themselves during the dancing, games and picture taking,” Director Williams said.

Tickets are $25.00 per couple and $5.00 per additional child.  Tickets can be purchased at the White Plains Youth Bureau, 11 Amherst Place, Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
