[VIDEO] Tributes Pay Homage to 'The Hunger Games' in White Plains

The City Center 15: Cinema De Lux looked like Panem Thursday night during the midnight premiere of “The Hunger Games.”

The odds were in the favor of those who scored tickets to the midnight showings of the “The Hunger Games” at the City Center 15: Cinema De Lux in White Plains.

The theatre looked like Panem Thursday night as tributes donned themselves in t-shirts and homemade costumes to pay homage to the first film adapted from a three book series written for young adults by Suzanne Collins

This week, the whole world will be watching Jennifer Lawrence star as Katniss Everdeen fighting for her life in a game where a repressive government, known as “The Capitol,” selects two children annually from 12 districts to fight to the death in a post-apocalyptic North America, known as Panem. The books and first film are said to be the newest pop culture obsession since the Harry Potter series.

Check out our video and photos from the midnight showing.

For those who have yet to see the film….Happy Hunger Games!
