A Pregnant Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi Talks ‘Gorilla Beach’

“The Jersey Shore” cast-member will be signing copies of her third book at the Barnes & Noble in White Plains on Saturday.

The sixth season of MTV’s “The Jersey Shore” may be a little toned down now that reality TV superstar and New York Times Best Selling Author Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is a mom-to-be.

“It will definitely be a different summer for me,” said Polizzi, 24.

Fans can still get a taste of what its like to be a guidette at the shore in Polizzi’s latest novel “Gorilla Beach,” which follows cousins Giovanna “Gia” Spumanti and Isabella “Bella” Rizzoli on their escapades to find hot guidos, a.k.a. gorilla juice heads, in Atlantic City.

“Gorilla Beach is the sequel to my first book ‘A Shore Thing’— it's basically about two girls who resemble Jenni [Farley, a.k.a JWoww] and I, who get into crazy situations,” said Polizzi. “Gia is me, and Bella is Jenni.”

While on the prowl, Gia uses her psychic abilities to win big in the casinos until casino managers get suspicious and put a damper on the duo’s partying plans. Though the characters are modeled after reality, Polizzi said the events in the book aren’t.

“I have a big imagination and just run with it,” said Polizzi.

The “Princess of Poughkeepsie” (she actually grew up in Marlboro, across the river from Poughkeepsie) will be signing copies of her third book “Gorilla Beach” on Saturday, May 19 at , 230 Main St., in White Plains at 1 p.m. ( for details).

This will be her second time at the White Plains bookstore, he was last there in October signing copies of “Confessions of a Guidette” (click for our previous interview with Polizzi, and for pictures of the book signing).

The self-proclaimed "meatball" said that other than her book tour, she has been taking it easy on the work-front.

“[I’ve been] Just trying to take care of myself and relax for the health of my child,” she said.

Polizzi will be co-starring is a spinoff with Farley obviously titled “Snooki & J-Woww,” which will air on MTV on June 21 at 10 p.m. Though she isn’t exactly sure how it’s going to work out—she will soon be getting ready to head back to Seaside Heights this summer to film the latest season of “The Jersey Shore.”

In the meantime, Polizzi is making her transition into motherhood.

“I was all about traveling and going out and just having fun with Jionni [LaValle, her finance], and now it's all about the baby,” said Polizzi. “It’s a very exciting feeling.”

The author and entrepreneur (she has her own sunglass, shoe, tanning lotion and perfume lines, as well as a boxing team) said she is enjoying the fun aspects of being pregnant, like decorating the nursery.

“It depends on what the sex of our baby is,” said Polizzi. “If it’s a girl, animal print. If it’s a boy, something Disney.”

But the mood swings…not so much.

“I hate feeling grumpy for no reason,” said Polizzi.

And don’t forget those pregnancy cravings.

“I crave a lot of cold things like pineapple and Italian Ices,” said Polizzi. “I’m just trying to eat very healthy for the baby.”

Balancing fame and a career with the standard emotional ups and downs of pregnancy is all worth it for Polizzi, “Just knowing your going to be a parent with the love of your life!”
