Veggiecation Program and Whole Foods Market Kids' Culinary Class

  • Editor's Note: The following was posted by a Patch reader. You can post your news to Patch, by for detailed instructions.

The Veggiecation Program (www.veggiecation.com) and Whole Foods Market in White Plains are working together so that kids have a busy and healthy summer. Using fresh summer fruits and veggies, kids will prepare Green Leaf Salad with Berries and Balsamic Vinaigrette and Simple, Nut-Free Basil Pesto

As practiced in participating classrooms throughout the country, kids will be invited to help prepare Veggiecation Program’s recipes, sample culinary creations, experience vegetables in their raw form and cast a vote on how they liked the recipes.

Kids will take home complimentary character coloring pages, word games, mazes and stickers.  Parents will receive a copy of recipes created that day.

A curriculum based nutrition education concept developed for classrooms and at home, Veggiecation Program’s success with kids lies in the engaging activities that empower children with their food choices while demonstrating that eating vegetables is fun and delicious.

Veggiecation Program and Whole Foods Market kids’ cooking class is free and open to the public.  Class will be held on July 25 from 4pm to 5pm.
