A Smashburger franchise is set to open in White Plains at 49 Tarrytown Road on Aug. 14, according to Smashburger spokeswoman Leah Pilcer.
The first Smashburger opened in Denver five years ago. The company’s founder, Tom Ryan, was a product and marketing man who has made a name for himself helping to create food items like the Stuffed Crust Pizza and Lovers line at Pizza Hut; McGriddles, Big ‘n Tasty, Dollar Menu, and Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits at McDonald’s; and Steakhouse Beef Dip, Prime Rib and Sammies at Quiznos.
There are currently 218 Smashburger locations, including restaurants in Mamaroneck and Pelham Manor, according to Pilcer.
