Target CEO Resigns Months After Customer Data Breach

Target's Chairman and CEO, Gregg Steinhafel, resigned Monday, the latest casualty of the massive customer data breach that rocked the company late last year.

The New York Times reported that Steinhafel, who had been with the company for 35 years, will be replaced on an interim basis by the company's CFO John Mulligan until a successor is found.

Target, which has a store in White Plains, said credit card and other personal information from more than 70 million customers was compromised late last year in the data breach. The company is rapidly adopting security measures as part of its efforts to regain consumer trust.
