AUCNY Urologist To Spearhead Annual Award Lecture and Resident Essay Meeting

Melville, NY, April 4, 2014 – George F. Owens, MD of Advanced Urology Centers of New York, White Plains North Division, and President of the New York Section of the American Urological Association (AUA), will be spearheading this year’s Ferdinand C. Valentine Award Lecture and Resident Essay Meeting on Wednesday, April 9th, 2014 at the New York Academy of Medicine in New York City.  Dr. Stephen Nakada, Dr. Daniel Williams and Dr. Sara Best from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health are the invited judges for this event.

The Ferdinand C. Valentine Essay contest invites urology interns participating in hospital residency programs throughout New York to submit recent research projects vying for an opportunity to be awarded a research grant. The Valentine Medal and Lectureship was created by the Valentine family to celebrate Dr. Ferdinand C. Valentine’s many contributions to medicine.

Dr. Owens notes “As a recipient of the Ferdinand C. Valentine fellowship through the New York Academy of Medicine during my residency, it is an honor to participate in this event for others.”
