Face-to-Face Meetings with Customers Remains Vital at BCW Expo

The Business Council of Westchester's 2014 Business Expo was the place to be this week as more than 1,800 people turned out to meet new clients, network with old ones and showcase their businesses.

In its 12th year, this year’s event – called Wexpo -- was the largest in recent memory and once again proved itself to be the most influential business-to-business trade show in the Hudson Valley. Hundreds of the region's top leaders, innovators and decision makers were on hand as exhibitors Thursday at the Hilton in Rye Brook. New this year was the addition of Experience Exchanges, suites with experts who spoke about maximizing mobile devices, decoding social media and getting the most out of virtual offices spaces.

"Our digital experiences and amplified social media use proved to be a big hit and complemented tried-and-true ways of getting business leaders together,” said Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of The Business Council.  “Businesses still recognize the value of face-to-face meetings and personal interactions."

Just about every industry in the county was represented at Wexpo and the day was a who’s who of business leaders, trendsetters and decision makers. Exhibitors included the region’s best in real estate, banking, law, health care, marketing, not-for-profits, hospitality, fitness, insurance and the like.
