Food Bank for Westchester Elects Four New Business Leaders to its Board

Food Bank for Westchester, the county’s emergency food distribution network which serves over 220 local hunger-relief programs throughout Westchester, has announced the election of four new business leaders to its Board of Directors. Elected to serve were Maria Freburg, Jody Rollins, Sue Tsorkis and Greg Werlinich.  

“We are pleased to welcome these distinguished business leaders to our Board of Directors. Their expertise and insight will greatly enhance the Food Bank for Westchester’s impact as we lead the fight for hunger relief and work to engage communities in an effort to create a hunger-free environment in Westchester,” said Food Bank for Westchester executive director Ellen Lynch.

Freburg is the Vice President, Senior Business Banker with Webster Bank.  Freburg has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 10 years in Westchester and Putnam counties. She currently serves on the boards of the Boy Scouts of America Westchester/Putnam Council and The Friends of the White Plains Youth Bureau, and she is chairwoman of the Business Council of Westchester’s Rising Stars Alumni Group. She also volunteers with The Westchester Coalition of the Hungry and Homeless. She is a resident of White Plains.

Rollins is a Senior Vice President for Chubb & Son, and the Regional Branch Manager for the Westchester Region which includes the Westchester, Albany, Long Island and Rochester branches. During her 26-year Chubb career, Rollins has held a variety of underwriting and leadership positions. She is a board member of the Women’s Development Council at Chubb which has a dedicated mission to promote women and leadership at the organization. She serves as a formal mentor to several Chubb employees domestically as well as with international employees. Rollins resides in Harrison.

Tsorkis is the Vice President of Global Citizenship and Sustainability for PepsiCo. Tsorkis also leads the operations of the PepsiCo Foundation.  She and her team have developed a compelling global citizenship agenda for PepsiCo aimed at empowering underserved communities. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Tsorkis consulted with Fortune 100 companies on strategy development and implementation, process improvement, high performance team development and change leadership. She is a member of the Strategic Advisory Board for Physic Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on entrepreneurial ventures in Health and Sustainable Living. She also serves as Chairman of the External Advisory Board for the Yale Graduate School of Nursing. Tsorkis resides in Pound Ridge.

Werlinich is the founder and President at Werlinich Asset Management.  Prior to forming WAM in 1997, Werlinich spent 5 years with a private investor and venture capitalist. During that time he earned an Executive MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Finance at New York University. He is co-author of “The Black Book on Personal Finance” and is a frequent guest on the Fox News channel. Werlinich resides in Rye Brook.

About the Food Bank for Westchester Incorporated in 1988, the Food Bank for Westchester is one of eight food banks in New York State. It acquires warehouses and distributes more than 7 million pounds of food annually to 230 frontline hunger-relief programs, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, day care and residential programs serving the 200,000 Westchester residents who are hungry or at risk of being hungry.
