Food Bank for Westchester Welcomes New Manager of Communications and Events, April K. Langus

WHITE PLAINS, NY (December 2013) The Food Bank for Westchester recently welcomed new Manager of Communications and Events, April K. Langus. In her new position with the organization, Langus will play a central role supporting, coordinating, and driving initiatives and deliverables across all facets of the Marketing communications functions at Food Bank.

“We look forward to working with April and welcome her to the Food Bank for Westchester,” said Ellen Lynch, Executive Director, Food Bank for Westchester. “Her work ethic and desire to support our ongoing fight against hunger and poverty in Westchester made this an easy decision for us. April is going to be a terrific addition to our staff.”

Prior to joining the Food Bank for Westchester, Langus worked with Westchester area Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., Private Wealth Advisors as their in-house Marketing Manager. There she assisted with developing and structuring annual marketing plans and provided coaching, guidance, and execution support. Langus also served as Operations and Marketing Manager at Joan Lunden Productions in Armonk and was Marketing Services Manager at Media Marketing Associates in Chappaqua.

“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to become a staff member at the Food Bank,” said Langus. “The team is exceptional; hardworking, smart and committed to the organization’s mission, to alleviate hunger in Westchester county.” 

Langus is involved within the community as a volunteer with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, SPCA Golden Outreach and the Hudson Valley Pet Food Pantry. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Ithaca College and currently resides in Chappaqua with her husband, Corey.

About the Food Bank for Westchester

Incorporated in 1988, the Food Bank for Westchester is one of eight food banks in New York State. It acquires warehouses and distributes more than 7 million pounds of food annually to 230 frontline hunger-relief programs, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, day care and residential programs serving the 200,000 Westchester residents who are hungry or at risk of being hungry.
