Jerold Ruderman Honored by Legal Services of the Hudson Valley

Wilson Elser attorney recognized as an Access to Justice honoree

Jerold R. Ruderman, of counsel in Wilson Elser’s White Plains office, was recognized by the Legal Services of the Hudson Valley as an “Access to Justice” honoree  at the 2014 Equal Access to Justice Dinner at The Ritz-Carlton Westchester on April 24, 2014.

The event focused attention on the essential need for equal access to justice in the Mid-Hudson Valley communities. Mr. Ruderman was recognized as a key member of the community for his efforts in implementing the core values highlighted in the event -- “Justice for All.”

As the chair of the Westchester County Human Rights Commission, member of Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman’s Pro Bono Advisory Committee and chair of the Ninth Judicial District Attorney Disciplinary Committee, Mr. Ruderman has long been active in Westchester County civic affairs through his involvement in a number of professional and community organizations.

Mr. Ruderman previously served as the managing partner for Wilson Elser’s White Plain office. In recent years, while continuing to practice law, he has shifted his focus to outreach and development activities to support and promote the next generation of the firm’s leaders, while contributing meaningfully to the Westchester community at large.

He supports many endeavors that encourage and promote higher education in the community, serving on board of trustees for Cornell University, where he received both his B.A. and J.D., and the Pace University Law School Board of Visitors. He also frequently lectures on his practice areas to law students at Pace, Cornell and New York University.

Mr. Ruderman has received numerous awards during his career. He is AV® Preeminent™ Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and was recipient of United Jewish Appeal “Man of the Year” award in the Lawyer and Professional Group category, 1995. 

In addition to serving as the president of the Westchester County Bar Association, he is also a member at the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
