Bigger and Better than Ever with 8 New Events, 10 Locations, and 6 Days of Food and Fun for All Ages

White Plains, NY (February 2014) - Westchester Magazine’s Fourth Annual Wine & Food Week has expanded to 16 events across one week from June 3rd- 8th.  One of the premier culinary gatherings in the Northeast, the event has grown to become a regional destination for foodophiles and oenophiles alike.  Showcasing more than 100 of Westchester’s top restaurants, 200 world-class wines, prestigious wine seminars and cooking classes, this week-long event offers something for every palate, interest and age.

Westchester Magazine’s Annual Wine & Food Week has grown steadily over the past three years and this year we have expanded from a weekend to a week of world-class programs,” said Ralph Martinelli, Publisher of Westchester Magazine. “In addition to our popular signature events, we’ve added exciting new offerings that include a Junior Chefs Academy at the Ritz-Carlton, Westchester for ages 7-17; Casino Royale at Empire City Casino; and special Tortilla Tequila Tuesday and Meatball Mania menus at six premiere restaurants.”

New events for 2014 include: 

· Tortilla Tequila Tuesday: Spice up your night with special prix-fixe Mexican menus and exceptional tequila pairings at Bartaco in Port Chester, Palomino in Larchmont and Sonora in Port Chester. (Tuesday, June 3)

· Meatball Mania – “Like Mama Used to Make!” Feast on the finest Italian meatballs and wine pairings at The Cookery in Dobbs Ferry, Fortina in Armonk and Tarry Lodge in Port Chester. (Wednesday, June 4)

· Casino Royale at Empire City Casino:  Five amazing food stations showcasing the best of pinch American Grill, a Ducasse Studio Creation! Plus a wide array of craft beers and live music by Daddy Pop who utilizes pinpoint dynamics and high voltage vocals, to cover everything from Bon Jovi to Justin Timberlake. Empire Club Members will receive $10 Free Play & Free Valet. Wine & Food Week will once again showcase a variety of signature events hosted by nationally and internationally acclaimed chefs and wine experts including:

  • The Burger & Beer Blast: Moved to Friday night and held at one of Westchester’s most iconic parks, Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla, this event spotlights the best burger competition among 30 top restaurants where attendees vote for their favorite bite of the night.  Mary C and the Stellars, one of the most buzzed-about groups in the indie music scene, will provide an electrifying performance. (Friday, June 6)
  • Grand Tasting: Unleash your inner foodie at this signature event featuring dishes from more than 80 restaurants and sip more than 200 wine vintages and specialty cocktails. The Grand Tasting is one of the county’s most coveted reservations. (Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8)
  • Wine Seminars with Kevin Zraly:  Oenophiles at every level will learn from Kevin Zraly, the preeminent expert in the wine industry.  (Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8)
  • The Winemakers Connoisseur Dinner: An exclusive Westchester social event that offers a memorable six course meal, with wine pairings, prepared by six of Westchester’s top chefs. Westchester Magazine will present the 2014 Food Awards and Wine Awards to the best of the region.  This year’s well-deserving honorees are Peter X. Kelly of The Xaviars Restaurant Group and Deutsch Family Wines & Spirits. (Saturday, June 7) 
  • Farm-to-Table Brunch: End your weekend in exquisite fashion with a brunch by Chef Anthony Gonclaves at Restaurant 42 with spectacular local food, wine and spirits. (Sunday, June 8)

Westchester Magazine’s Wine & Food Week proudly supports two local organizations: the Food Bank for Westchester, dedicated to ending hunger in Westchester County; and Friends of Westchester County Parks, committed to the preservation and conservation of 18,000 acres of parks and trails.
