Located at 1296 North Avenue, the two-story 18,000 square-foot facility is the first White Plains Hospital Physician Associates satellite practice and imaging center in the Sound Shore area. The first phase of building renovations is now complete and includes space for primary care, dermatology, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, endocrinology, obstetrical and gynecology, and orthopedic services.

The second phase of renovations is currently in progress on the first floor of the building and will house the comprehensive Imaging Center, which is expected to open in early 2014.

“We are confident that this facility will be a valuable match for the healthcare needs of this very vibrant community,” said Susan Fox, President of White Plains Hospital. Speaking at a community open house and ribbon-cutting reception held today in the new space, she added, “We are aware that much of the community utilizes our hospital for inpatient care, and wanted to be able to provide closer access to our expanding breadth of outpatient specialty services and growing physician base.”

New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson expressed a warm welcome to the physicians and staff by saying, “We are very fortunate to have these talented medical specialists practicing in our community, and I extend our best wishes to the group on behalf of the people of New Rochelle.”

Physicians seeing patients on a full-time basis at the facility include primary care specialists Annmarie Baldanti, M.D.; Martin Engelhardt, D.O.; Richard Gottfried, M.D.; and Maria Wing, M.D.; dermatologist Lesa Kelly, M.D.; gastroenterologist Seth Gendler, M.D.; and endocrinologist Rebecca Fenichel, M.D.

“My colleagues and I are thrilled to be joining White Plains Hospital,” said Maria Wing, M.D., one of the physicians in the new space and a longtime internal medicine practitioner in New Rochelle.  “The hospital has a well-deserved reputation for providing the highest caliber of exceptional care to its patients, and we could not be more pleased to be a part of that.”

The group will be joined later this year on a part-time basis by obstetrician/gynecologist Kevin Meacham, M.D.; hematologists/oncologists Sara Sadan, M.D. and Yael Zack, M.D.; and orthopaedic surgeons Daniel Markowicz, M.D. and Michael Schwartz, M.D.  Several physicians have long standing ties to the New Rochelle and Sound Shore communities, and have been practicing in the area for years.

Beginning in early 2014, the facility will offer comprehensive imaging services for mammography, ultrasound, CT scan and diagnostic (X-Ray) tests under the direction of radiologist Pamela Weber, M.D., of Scarsdale, who was recruited to oversee the imaging Center from a group practice on Long Island.

The site will also include a multi-purpose room to be used for meetings, patient education and community lectures with a focus on wellness when construction is completed early next year.

All office hours, including imaging services, will be by appointment only.

The facility is conveniently located in the Wykagyl Shopping Center, near the Hutchinson River Parkway at the intersection of North Avenue and Quaker Ridge Road. Ample, convenient parking is provided in the rear of the building, free of charge.
