White Plains Lawyers Jessica Galligan Goldsmith and Richard L. Chadakoff Are Selected for 2013 New York Metro 'Super Lawyers' List

Jessica Galligan Goldsmith and Richard L. Chadakoff of Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever, LLP have been named to the 2013 edition of New York Metro Super Lawyers, a listing of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in the New York Metropolitan area. Each year, only five percent of all attorneys in New York State are selected for Super Lawyers lists.

In addition to being a New York Metro Super Lawyer, Mr. Chadakoff has been included in the 2013 list of the Top 25 Attorneys in Westchester. The list is compromised of Westchester-based lawyers who received the highest point totals in the New York Metro Super Lawyers nomination, research, and blue ribbon review process.

Jessica Galligan Goldsmith was first named a Super Lawyer in 2009 and has been named every year since for a total of five years in a row. Ms. Goldsmith was also selected as one of the top 25 attorneys in Westchester in 2010 and 2011. AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, Ms. Goldsmith advises clients in the areas of estate and gift planning, charitable planning, estate administration and planning for closely held businesses. Her defining traits are the quality of her work, excellent judgment, and her close relationships with clients. While Ms. Goldsmith’s technical skills enable her to create sophisticated tax-efficient gift and estate plans, her knowledge of and intuition with regard to family dynamics enables her to craft reasonable solutions that are mutually satisfying for all parties.

Ms. Goldsmith is a member of the exclusive Estate Planning Council of Westchester County Inc., the New York City Bar Association where she serves as a member of the Trusts, Estates and Surrogate’s Court Committee, the Metro New York Philanthropic Advisors Network, the New York State Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Westchester Women’s Bar Association. Ms. Goldsmith is admitted to the Bar in both New York and Connecticut, as well as the United States Tax Court. She obtained her J.D. at Harvard University and her B.A., cum laude, at Bryn Mawr College. Ms. Goldsmith lives in Armonk, N.Y.

Richard L. Chadakoff has consummated many major real estate transactions for renowned developers and financiers in a legal career spanning more than 30 years. After serving as a partner at a number of large, international law firms, Mr. Chadakoff joined Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever, LLP in 2011, where he brings considerable transactional expertise to commercial real estate transactions of all types. A deft problem solver, and versatile attorney, Mr. Chadakoff frequently overcomes roadblocks that might derail transactions managed by less experienced attorneys, Mr. Chadakoff has been involved in numerous real estate financings, workouts, joint ventures, acquisitions, and dispositions, representing lenders, borrowers, buyers, and sellers. His colleagues often note that Mr. Chadakoff has rarely, worked on a deal that didn’t close.

Mr. Chadakoff, also rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell, has been awarded the highest distinctions in his profession. He was selected as a New York Metro Super Lawyer in 2006 through 2011, and has been repeatedly included in “Who’s Who Legal-Real Estate”; “New York Area’s Best Lawyers”; “Best Lawyers in America”; “Legal 500”; Chambers USA-“America’s Leading Lawyers for Business”; and Chambers Global-“The World’s Leading Lawyers”. He is a member of the Board of Advisors of Chicago-Ticor Title Guarantee Company, and admitted to the New York State Bar. A resident of New Rochelle, Mr. Chadakoff holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University and a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He earned his B.A. from Syracuse University.
