Wilson Elser’s Michelle Arbitrio Named to Westchester County’s List of Rising Stars Under 40

National law firm Wilson Elser is pleased to announce that Michelle M. Arbitrio, a partner in the firm’s White Plains office, has been selected as a Rising Star – Westchester’s 40 Under 40 by the Business Council of Westchester.

Ms. Arbitrio not only works for Westchester County’s largest law firm, but she was also born and raised in the county, and lives in Chappaqua with her husband and two children.

Her nomination was selected from a competitive pool of more than 100 candidates working in the Westchester business community.

The award, which recognizes young Westchester business leaders who have achieved professional accomplishments, leadership qualities and outstanding success before the age of 40, will be presented to the 40 winners on June 12, 2014.

An accomplished attorney practicing for 12 years, Ms. Arbitrio litigates, tries and appeals complex professional, commercial, coverage, life insurance, ERISA and employment disputes in state and federal courts and defends securities arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Ms. Arbitrio represents Fortune 500 companies, and recently obtained a verdict on behalf of one of her clients in a $1.3 million commercial contract dispute in the Superior Court of Danbury.

Among her numerous volunteer commitments to the firm and her community, Ms. Arbitrio serves on the board of directors of the Breadwinners Foundation, a charity headquartered in White Plains that supports families who are struggling financially because the primary breadwinner died unexpectedly without life insurance.

She graduated cum laude from both Providence College with a B.A. degree (1999) and a Pace University School of Law (2002) with a J.D. degree, where she was the Articles Editor for the Pace International Law Review.
