Finding Balance

I came across this quote today-

"Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present."- Jim Rohn

This made a lot of sense to me.  How often is it that we are so busy, we put things off until later.  It could be something that we have been yearning to try, something we have been wanting to do, someone we have been wanting to see, but due to our daily responsibilities, we say oh tomorrow I will do it.  A part of being happy and maintaining happiness is balance.  Our responsibilities are always going to be there.  It's how we balance them out with everything else in our lives.  I picture it like a wheel of a bicycle.  The wheel only works when each side of it is inflated and full.  When one part of that wheel is deflated the wheel doesn't work. Note this picture above. This is a great way to identify any areas on your wheel (or in your life) that may be off balance.

Look at each area.  Be honest with yourself and rate each area of the wheel from 1 to 5 with 1 being you are completely satisfied and 5 you are not.  Once you do that you can assess which area you want to start working on and balancing out better.  Our goal is to try to have our wheels in balance as much as we can.  We are always going to be tweaking areas in our life.  Certain areas are going to be more important at certain times and may require more of our time.  For more information on your wheel, balancing out your life, or fitting in more time for things you want to do, feel free to contact me.
