Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 03:23 am
Not a pollster or statistician, but it looks like Carvin is going to win in a biggish way:
54% of districts in; Carvin @ 1,673 v Dos Anjos @938
Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 03:26 am
52% reporting Myers 2,846 v Keith 2,433 - gap is now 413 votes.
Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 03:28 am
This one looks clear with 65% of districts reproting Belmont's @ 2,164 v Walsh @ 1,285. Maybe the Beaver Brook Swamp ball fields will not be built.
Harrison now November 9, 2011 at 03:30 am
It would be a travesty if malfitano gets in as harrison councilman. How quickly people forget.
Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 03:31 am
with 48% of districts reporting Perez looks like the clear winner: 961 to Goldberg's 490. I don't get why anyone, let alone 249 people, would 've voted fro Alvarado.
Proud Citizen November 9, 2011 at 03:32 am
People Didn't forget, they just got rid of all the deadwood in Harrison and now things will be moving forward
Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 03:33 am
57% (8) districts now in
Sack - 1,009; Brett - 962; Parker - 810; Liner - 808; Nathan - 697; Gamache - 654
Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 03:38 am
9 of 14 districts in it's
Sack - 1,131; Brett - 1,086; Parker - 931 Liner - 892; Nathan - 806; Gamache - 743
Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 03:40 am
60% of districts in: Myers @ 3,275 v Keith @ 2,851 - a gap of 424 votes.
Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 03:43 am
With 75% of districts in, it looks like Malfinato @2,163 will be in second and Scilliano @2,404 are almost too far ahead to catch with #3 = Vetere with 1,634 votes.

Y'all can read and comment on the blog too - it's up on all our sites, here's one URL: http://tarrytown.patch.com/articles/coming-at-7-p-m-election-night-live-blog
Harrison now November 9, 2011 at 03:47 am
respectfully disagree. the town will not move forward by electing a poorly performing former mayor as councilman. Belmont yes.
Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 03:51 am
69% of districts in and Myers has 3,520 to Keith's 3,094 - a spread of 426 votes. Not too much "time" left for Keith to catch up.
Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 03:55 am
70% of districts in Carvin @ 2,053 (63%) to Dos Anjos @ 1,229 (37%). Can we say "Goodbye" to Rye Town in the near future?
NAO November 9, 2011 at 04:18 am
Bob, It appears that Judy is now winning by over 500 votes with 81% of the votes counted.
Bob Zahm November 9, 2011 at 04:23 am
Yup, NAO, I think that it's over for Keith. I wanted Myers out, but it's not gonna happen this time around. Maybe Jenkin's super majority will be broken somewhere else.
Nurse Ratched November 9, 2011 at 04:41 am

Guess the BoE has stopped counting for the night. Odd. No updates in over an hour.

What does election result proove: That the avergae voter in Westchester is either very, very dumb or so co-opted by a party or union that they actually can no longer vote for candidates that will improve the state of teh county. I mean- "we the people" collectively essentailly have said- we support the incumbents who have utterly brought the county to the state of insolvency. I honestly don't get it- and this has nothing to do with partisanship. Its just insanity.
Miguel Hernandez November 9, 2011 at 04:24 pm
I successfully ran for local election 4 times but in each one the BOE reported that I was running way behind my opponent. In one instance I received a "condolence" call from an opponent's supporter one asking me to concede. He saw the numbers posted on the BOE website and thought I was burnt toast.
Katie Ryan O'Connor (Editor) November 9, 2011 at 04:40 pm
Great perspective Miguel, thank you for stopping by! A timely reminder it's not over 'till it's over!
Bob Zahm November 10, 2011 at 07:52 pm
Most interesting is that if the now-posted results stand, Boss Jenkin's will have lost his super majority as the Democrats look to have 10 seats and the Republicans 7. Could make for a much more productive - for the tax payer - year.

I'm glad to see someone else put on paper some of the reaction I have had to being required to pay aRead More fee to park at WestMed. I think the fee is unconscionable! I was even more insulted when I received a tone-deaf response to my complaint about the fee from the head of WestMed. I understand that WestMed ended up paying considerably more for the parking facility than anticipated, but that's no justification for charging clients who have no choice but to park there in order to receive vital services. It's a gross insult to the patients. It's not our fault that WestMed had to cough up more dough. With new WestMed locations being opened every few months, clearly the company is not hurting financially. And, what's most ridiculous, is that they hired a staff of four or five parking attendants to issue tickets and instruct us how to pay for the parking! Why not use their salaries to help defray the facility's cost? You're right that it's pure greed because WestMed could have chosen to recoup the cost more slowly and not charge a fee. When I expressed my displeasure about the fee to my doctor, he posed an interesting question: when the facility's cost is paid off, will WestMed continue to charge for parking? By this time, WestMed has certainly recouped enough of the cost to make a dent in the overall expense. It's time to get rid of the fee and restore some dignity to what used to be a fine organization. In the past I heartily recommended family, friends and many others to WestMed. Now, I've got a very nasty taste in my mouth about WestMed! Shame on you, WestMed!
Clifford Blau June 15, 2013 at 09:48 am
It's not true that parking is required. You could do as I do and walk there (assuming it isRead More actually the White Plains office you are referring to and not Harrison), or take a bus, or a taxi, or have someone drop you off and pick you up. And if you aren't happy with their service, go somewhere else. There are lots of doctors not affiliated with Westmed.
Cathy G June 15, 2013 at 04:41 pm
Clifford, thanks for your two cents! How lucky for you that you can walk to your doctor's office andRead More not have to pay to park!
