The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating a possible close call between two small airplanes over the weekend at Westchester County Airport, a county spokesperson said.
The pilot of a private two-engine aircraft reported that while taking off from the airport at about 7 p.m. Sunday another small plane came "too close for comfort" during its landing, the spokesperson said.
The incident was first reported to the the airport's operations center Wednesday. The FAA is handling the investigation and is expected to release a statement at some point Wednesday afternoon, the spokesperson said.
