Sleet, Ice Wallop White Plains

Roads, sidewalks slick downtown Monday; DPW hits the roads.

As a wintry mix made its way through the region Monday afternoon, White Plain's streets, sidewalks and stairways were coated in a slippy veneer.

The city's Department of Public Works was out salting public walkways Monday around 3:30 p.m., working to combat the sheet of ice forming over sidewalks.

Monday's freezing rain is expected to give way to warmer days, with it hitting the mid-40s Tuesday.
