More than 168,000 people county-wide remain without power in Westchester as of Thursday morning, according to Con Edison.

Hundreds of thousands more are without power in New York City. County Executive Robert Astorino released a statement Wednesday saying he has received assurance from Consolidated Edison CEO Kevin Burke that resources will not be diverted into New York City. But the CEO representatives have also said priority will be given to more populated areas during the initial restoration effort.

Consolidated Edison is estimating it could take a week or longer to restore power to some parts of Westchester County.

Con Edison customers without power should be sure to report the outage to the utility company. Call Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED or report the outage online at http://www.coned.com/sm/

In the meantime, residents have flooded into restaurants, coffee shops and other open businesses hoping for a place to plug in phones and other electronics.

Among several options in the City, NY Sports Club in White Plains has opened its doors to people in need of a shower or access to power.
