Update: Snow on the Way for White Plains

Heavy snowfall is headed for the region Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

White Plains could get hit with a major snowstorm Friday night, according to the National Weather Service—strong winds combined with snowfall could bring blizzard-like conditions.

The NWS has issued a winter storm watch for Friday night, forecasting "heavy snowfall, strong winds and dangerous driving conditions."

  • Snow before noon, then rain. The rain and snow could be heavy at times. High near 38. East wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  • Friday Night Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 9pm. The rain and snow could be heavy at times. Low around 24. Windy, with a north wind 20 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.
