Workers Start Construction of New Post Road School Playground

There’s less than a month before the school year starts in White Plains, but the ball field at the Post Road School is already bustling with activity.

Workers are busy trying to ready the playground in time for volunteers to come in Saturday morning and install the equipment.

About $75,000 was raised to for the construction of the new playground. The White Plains school district allocated the $50,000 to four of its five elementary schools for the construction of playgrounds through a public bond referendum that was approved by the public in October.

The rest of the money was raised by a group of parent volunteers.
