Our exciting "1st Wednesday" series continues with Open Mic, SLAM competition, and guest poet Benedicto Figueroa. Ben “Broken English” Figueroa has been a member of three New Jersey slam teams and is currently the slammaster and host of Jersey City Slam, which he founded in 2009. For audience members who want to step up to the mike, please register at 6:30 pm and bring two original poems of up to three minutes each. Registration closes promptly at 7 pm, and program starts shortly thereafter. Co-hosted by local poet and slammaster Eric ZORK Alan. Refreshments served and all are welcome! Questions? Contact program librarian Miriam Varian by phone: 422-6980 or e-mail: mvarian@whiteplainslibrary.org. Poetry Slam is a project of the White Plains Library Foundation.
