Freeman L. Palmer Preaching

Rev. Freeman L. Palmer, Associate Conference Minister of the New York Conference, will preach Sunday, 9/15, 10 AM, at The Church in the Highlands, 35 Bryant Ave., White Plains.

Joining the Highlands Church, the Ridgeview Congregational Church will close its doors so members can attend this observance of New York Conference Sunday. In addition, delegations from Chatterton Hill and Scarsdale Congregational churches are expected to take part.

The four participating congregations were once a single church known as the Westchester Congregational Church. Founded in 1904 in Scarsdale, each congregation was constituted at a separate location, with its own pastor and leadership. But the church was a single corporation, benefiting from the wisdom, resources and mutual support of the whole. From 1922 to 1924 the four congregations, plus a mission project in India, claimed a single identity. Over time, however, the congregations went their separate ways.

Palmer is a graduate of NY Theological Seminary with an MBA from the U. Pa. and BA from Swarthmore College. He is a gifted singer, having soloed with the Swarthomre College Alumni Gospel Choir. He brings an energy and love to his preaching that inspire.
