Drive Will Benefit The Furniture Sharehouse

On Sunday, November 10 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Outreach and Stepinac High School are co-sponsoring a drive to benefit The Furniture Sharehouse, which collects gently-used furniture for redistribution free-of-charge to families in need. The Drive will be at Stepinac (950 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains) rain or shine. Only basic HOME FURNITURE & SMALL APPLIANCES IN GOOD CONDITION will be accepted. The Furrniture Sharehouse provides gently-used furniture free-of-charge to families moving out of homeless shelters, escaping domestic violence, struggling with poverty and recovering from personal and natural disasters.  Since opening in 2007, it has provided some 36,000 items of free furniture worth over $2.2 million to more than 6,800 individuals who could not afford a bed to sleep on or a table to share a family meal.  Furniture Sharehouse works with over 30 local social service agencies to ensure that the furniture goes directly to those who need it most.  It is operated almost entirely by volunteers and is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
