Obituary for Whamon Pedrow, Sr.











Whamon Pedrow passed away on March 23, 2014 at White Plains Hospital.  For the last years of his life he was a resident of Schnurmacher Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, White Plains.

Whamon was born on September 23, 1933 in Mt. Pleasant, New York to the late Whamon and Margret Hargrove
Pedrow.

He was a life-long resident of Greenburgh and White Plains, New York and attended local schools.  He also served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958.

After 30+ years of continuous service, Whamon retired from Westchester Community College where he was a fixture around campus. 

Prior to working at WCC, he was employed at the National Casket Company.

He also provided cleaning services as an independent contractor.

Whamon is survived by his beloved wife Marion, children:  Fitzallen and George Sessoms (son-in-law) of Peabody, Mass., James Wendell and Gail McRae (daughter-in-law), of Queens, Whamon Pedrow, Jr. of Greenburgh, Clifford and Jeannette Pedrow (daughter-in-law) of Queens, Gloria and Joshua Rivera (son-in-law) of Yonkers.

He was preceded in death by one son, Michael McRae.  

He leaves a host of grand-children: Melissa, Morgan, George McKenzie, Jahiem, Kevin, Rahsaan, James  Jr., Latoya, Chantel, Clifton, Jennifer,

Justin, Christian, Sedric; and great grand-children: Jahquan, Gizelle, Destiny, DeChiara, Micaiah, Zion, Reece and Avery.
