Heineken Safe Ride Program Marks 10th Anniversary this New Year's Eve

A dedicated fleet of more than 30 cars will provide complimentary rides home for those 21 and older traveling anywhere in White Plains and throughout Westchester County between 11 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 3 a.m. on Jan. 1.

HEINEKEN USA is once again joining forces with The City of White Plains and The White Plains Business Improvement District to help keep residents safe on New Year’s Eve.  The groups today announced the 10th annual “New Year. Safe Ride.” program, in which HEINEKEN USA will be providing free and safe rides home for Westchester County residents of legal drinking age who are celebrating New Year’s Eve in downtown White Plains.

“Over the past nine years, the ‘New Year. Safe Ride.’ program has provided more than 3,000 free and safe rides home for Westchester County residents of legal drinking age to help people enjoy a safe and happy holiday season,” said Stacey Tank, Senior Vice President & Chief Corporate Relations Officer, HEINEKEN USA. “This program is a long-standing demonstration of the importance HEINEKEN USA places on responsible consumption. We are honored to stand alongside our community partners and are proud to be headquartered here in White Plains.”

“The White Plains Business Improvement District is proud to partner with The City of White Plains, and many local sponsors, to host The 14th Annual White Plains New Year’s Eve Spectacular.  The celebration begins at 10 pm and will feature live music, a countdown and ball drop, confetti and a beautiful grand finale fireworks display that is sure to wow the crowd once again this year,” said Brittany Brandwein, Director of Events and Business Promotions, White Plains Business Improvement District.

Revelers can take advantage of the ‘New Year. Safe Ride.’ program between 11:00 p.m. on December 31 and 3:00 a.m. on January 1. The car service station will be located in the heart of downtown, on the corner of East Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue.
