Rotary Honors White Plains Lawyer with Ethics Award

Daniel Schlanger, of the law firm of Schlanger and Schlanger in White Plains, was honored with the White Plains Rotary’s Jim Gardner Business Ethics Award last month.

The award began in 2001 and is given to a person who encourages and fostesr the ideal of service above self. The winners, who have ranged from  corporate executives to retail business owners and nursing home managers, is chosen by the Rotary’s Business Ethics Committee.

Schlanger started a Civil Legal Advice and Referral Office for Westchester County in 2012.  The office, which is run by Schlanger and other volunteer attorneys, provides advice to people in  Westchester with too much income to qualify for federally-funded legal services, but too little income to hire a private attorney.
