White Plains to Hold Sept. 11 Honor Service

The service will take place 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Liberty Park in White Plains.




The City of White Plains is hosting a  9/11 commemorative service honoring and remembering residents who were victims of the terrorist attacks on Wednesday.

The ceremony will take place 8 a.m. at Liberty Park on Lake Street, which is the 
site of the City’s permanent memorial for the residents of White Plains who were killed on Sept. 11, 2001. Six White Plains residents died in the attacks. 

The event will include a flag raising, wreath laying, a musical tribute performed by the Police Emerald Society of Westchester Pipers & Drummers, a moment of silence and poem reading.
