5 Steps to Radiant Skin!

5 steps to radiant skin!

See photos in the magazines, or people walking down the street, and think—how do they achieve that glow in their skin?

Well here you go!

Below are 5 steps to achieve great skin...

1. Stop taking long showers!!!
There is no need to take a 20-30 minute shower, are you that dirty?! Keep the shower to no more than 10 minutes with a warmer water, not super hot. Super hot water drys out your skin even more—not good!

Using a body wash and loofah will help exfoliate your skin gently, rather than harsh soap and a washcloth. Don't over scrub either, it can create flaking on the skin once you have dried off.

2. Keep yourself hydrated!!!
You are supposed to drink eight, 8 oz glasses of water a day—most people don't do that. But drinking as much as you can will definitely show through your skin. Coffee, tea, soda=caffeine, sugar and dehydration. You can have your coffee in the morning or iced tea with lunch, but try to stay away from sodas and drink water in between.

*Note—it will also curb your appetite, stopping you from snacking as much throughout the day!

3. Get Sleep!!!
You may be able to function on 5 or 6 hours of sleep, but your body is slowing down on the inside. You need approx 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep daily (I usually need 10!) If you run your body down, your are more susceptible to getting sick. If you sleep 6 or so hours a few days in a row, try to go to bed earlier and get a few more hours once or twice a week. Your body will thank you.

Plus—tired, puffy, dark circles under your eyes are not attractive!

4. Omega-3 is now your new best friend!!!
There are so many vitamins out there, and depending on your age and gender, there are specific vitamins you should have in your daily diet. However, regardless of your age or gender, Omega-3 fatty acids has been tested and it has been proven that it does reduce inflammation and aids your skin and body in retaining moisture, keeping you hydrated. It was also found that it helps in repairing cell damage, which is important for everyone as well! So pop some Omega-3 pills, or eat more salmon— either way you will be helping yourself in the long run!

5. Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize!
I don't care how much you are in a rush in the morning, you need to take five minutes to moisturize your entire body. That dry, flaky skin you hate? Those ashy knees or elbows? The itchy spots? They can all be eliminated if you use the correct moisturizer for your body, and do a rub-down daily. I personally love Eucerine Daily Replenish. It is more than enough hydration for dry skin, yet not too much for oily to normal skin. Use on your entire body except your face, which needs a more specific moisturizer!
